Son Tae Young

Son Tae Young launched a new cosmetics brand, strangely named, “Biuret” by partnering up with online giant Gmarket and Wiz Korea on September 23rd. So what makes her makeup different? And why would anyone want to buy it when there are already great makeup brands out there?

Although packaging alone does not hint at the quality, the pictures of Son Tae Young showing off her best side (obviously her right side) doesn’t give any clues either. Of course fabulous packaging helps but “Biuret” does not have that or a strong selling point. The concept of the makeup is “trendy, cutie, sexy etc.”- in other words, everything.


Having a diluted concept and strategy as well as relying on her stardom (by marrying Kwon Sang-woo), Son Tae Young may have trouble selling the makeup. But then again, with backing from Gmarket, the results might be different.
